Obituary of Jesse James Sullivan

Jesse James “J.J.” Sullivan, age 83, of Independence, KY, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2017 at Carmel Manor in Ft. Thomas, KY.  He was a retired Switchman for CSX Railroad and member and deacon at First Baptist Church in Independence.  James enjoyed fishing, hunting, and the outdoors. 

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Emily Robertson and Zella Johnson, brothers, Arlus Sullivan and Charlie Sullivan; and granddaughter, Deva McFarland.  Survivors include his wife (of 57 years), Phyllis Osborne Sullivan; children, Debbie McFarland (Clifford), James Terry (Donna), Rodney Sullivan, Kerry Sullivan (Jennifer), Timothy Sullivan, and Pamela Huff (Sam); thirteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandson. 

Visitation will be Monday, December 18, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with services immediately following at 1 p.m. at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence.  Interment will be at Independence Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 11691 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051.  Online condolences may be expressed to www.chambersandgrubbs.com.
