Obituary of Mary Brooks

Mary Esther Dehner Brooks, 78, of Sparta, formerly of Covington and Florence, passed away Friday, August 26, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare of Edgewood. She was a machine operator for Duro Bag Co., a former member of Florence Community Church of the Nazarene, a current member of New Life Church of God in Glencoe and enjoyed playing the piano in church. She was preceded in death by sons, Kelvin Wayne Dalhover in 1977 and William Dalhover, Jr. in 2003; daughter Valeria Brown in 2011; and husband, Jesse J. Brooks in 2006. Survivors include daughters, Betty Eckler of Burlington, Mary Ahlers of Sparta, and Charlene Lowe of Independence; son Phillip Dalhover of Sanders; brothers, David Dehner of Florence and James Dehner of Boston, MA; 18 Grandchildren, 30 Great-grandchildren: and 1 Great-Great Grandchild. Visitation will be Friday, September 2, 2011 from 11 AM until time of funeral service at 12 Noon at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Florence. Burial will be at Floral Hills Cemetery of Taylor Mill. Memorials may be directed to New Life Church of God, 1915 Tapering Pt. Rd., Glencoe, KY 41046.
