Obituary of Marcelle Childs

Marcelle Mericle Childs, age 94, of Covington, KY, died Sunday, May 8, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare of Edgewood. Ms. Childs formerly taught English in Venezuela and enjoyed playing bridge, doing cross word puzzles, traveling and following the arts. Her husband, Dexter William Childs preceded her in death in 1970 and her son, James William Childs, preceded her in death in 2001. Survivors include her grandchildren, Elizabeth Childs Greico of Brookline, MA, Ann Childs Freeman of Ashburn, VA, J.W. Childs of Covington, Dylan Childs of Akron, OH, and Karrin Childs of South Korea; great-grandchildren, Raphael Greico, Ana Maria Greico, Kathleen Freeman, Kelsey Freeman, Nathaniel Freeman, Samuel Childs, Malcolm Childs, and Soleil Childs; daughter-in-law, Sally Childs of Akron, OH; and loving care giver, Bea Howard.
Gathering of friends will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, May, 11th, at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence, KY. Memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. Interment will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert, OH.
Memorial donations can be made to the charity of one's choice.
