I'm so sorry that we didn't know in time to be there, but what an example of true love she was! I have so many memories of her - and they are all full of smiles and caring. Heaven has gained a true angel! Our love and prayers are with all of you.

I have fond memerioes of you each and every one, memories are wonderful, she touch so many lives, and the young, but she was always young at heart. Decoursey, was my savior as a child, and I am every so grateful for that, I think maybe Atha told him to be good and kind to me, and he was. She was kind to everyone, I took advantage of that because, he was so kind and took up for me when others bullyed me I will never forget that. Decoursey thank you so much for all that you did for me. I love you each one still today. God bless you all, and Thanks for the Memories.

My son Jason(age 10 at the time) and I first met Mrs Polly and her husband 25 years ago . She would let Jason hunt arrowheads on the farm. After hunting Jason would show her and her husband anything he found . She would have a cold glass of water for Jason on a hot day and the usual pleasant conversation. She is remembered for her kind ways and will be missed. Tom Leinmiller

The world's loss is heaven's gain, what a blessing it has been to have just known you and your life story, All who crossed your path are truely blessed. It's so hard to let go but how selfish we would be knowing where you are now. I know without doubt that the face of JESUS put the smile on your face that you left your girls with. I will miss most hearing you pray, I loved to hear you pray, such conviction and a strong voice from such a small lady. Until that day I love you Granny..
Your grandson...

One of my earliest memories with Granny Polly was spending the night at the old white house. There were several beds in a big room in the upstairs which was nicknamed the "boar's nest." It would usually be Mom, Dad, me, Lena, Ray, Grandma and Grandpa. We would say our goodnights and granny would say, "Shan, sing us a song." So I would sing before we would go to sleep. Then on Sunday mornings Granny and I would catch the church bus to Kenton Baptist Church where she was a member for many many years. She was also my Sunday School teacher for several years. Most Sundays it would just be the two us, which was fine with me. If Granny couldn't find a way to church, she would walk. Nothing came between Granny and church!
She always made you feel important. When I was a little girl, she let me "roll out" the dumplings for her chicken dumplings. She fixed a big meal every Sunday after church. It always amazed me how she could manage to fix enough food for everyone...no matter how many people stopped by to visit.
We were also neighbors for a while. She told me she could hear me leaving for work in the mornings because she would already be out digging in her garden. She would also watch for my kitchen lights to go out before she would go to bed at night. I've heard her say her two favorite things in life were digging in her garden and reading the Bible.
She told me years ago one of her favorite songs was "How Beautiful Heaven Must Be." Here are a few words from that song. "We read of a place that's called Heaven. It's made for the pure and the free. These truths in God's Word He has given. How Beautiful Heaven must be. How beautiful Heaven must be. Sweet home of the happy and free. Fair haven of rest for the weary. How beautiful Heaven must be." How happy she must be now.
I have so many memories of my Grandma Polly that I will cherish always. There will NEVER be another Granny Polly. You never know just how blessed you are to have certain people in your life sometimes until they're gone. But I would venture to say, everyone who came in contact with my Grandmother knew EXACTLY how blessed they were to know such a strong, beautiful, caring, loving, Christian woman.

My great grandma was always so good to me when i went to her house, she was always cooking and wanted you to eat. She always had the most beautiful smile, a very loving and caring Christian woman who just seemed to like everyone, and if you ever got the chance to meet her you would have absolutely loved as i did. She will be greatly missed we will meet again one day in Heaven an it will be a glorious reunion. I love you mama

I LOVED "GRANDMA" POLLY AND HER FAMILY, IT IS VERY EASY TO SEE WHY EVERYBODY THAT COMES IN CONTACT WITH THIS FAMILY CAN'T HELP BUT LOVE THEM. THE INFLUENCE THAT GRANDMA HAD ON EVERYONE SHOWS IN THE WAY THEY TREAT PEOPLE AND ARE JUST GENUINE GOOD PEOPLE. MRS. POLLY HAS LEFT A BIG VOID, ALL WE CAN DO NOW IS HANG ONTO THE GOOD MEMORIES AND BE GLAD SHE IS IN HEAVEN. ONE OF MY FIRST JOBS WAS AT QUEEN CITY DINETTE, ME AND GRANDMA SHARED A RIDE TO WORK EVERY MORNING THERE, SOME OF THE BEST TIMES I EVER HAD GETTING TO WORK! SHE WAS NOT MY GRANDMA, BUT I ALWAYS CALLED HER THAT. I LOVED HER, SHE WAS A VERY PRECIOUS, AND BEAUTIFUL PERSON. REST IN PEACE, GRANDMA. LOVE YOU.
