Obituary of Willie Blanton

Willie Blanton, age 84 of Walton, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Health Care of Edgewood. He was a Veteran of WWII, member of the 417th Regiment, 76th Infantry Divison "the Onaways." Retired member of Teamsters Local #651 who enjoyed mowing the grass, playing the organ, hunting and fishing. Retired truck driver for Continental Baking and Square D Co. Preceded in death by wife Betty Louise Blanton and son Robert Anthony Blanton. Survived by: Beloved friend, Lynn Bullard, Independence, daughters, Beverly Campbell, Covington, Brandie Blanton, Houston, Tx., Son, William Blanton, Cypress, Tx., sisters, Ethel Colvin, Oil Springs, Ky. and Ada Caudill, Flatwoods, Ky., brothers Tyra Lee Blanton, Larue, Oh. And Shelly Kay Luttrell, Mine Fork, Ky., 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grand children.
Services will be held at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence. Visitation will be Friday, January 28, 2011 from 4-8 pm. Funeral service will be 1 pm. Saturday, January 29, 2011. Burial will be in Independence Cemetery.
