I was in Kentucky last summer and we were all at my mom's. I remember I wanted Chelsea to be comfortable but I didn't want her to feel like I was babying her. When me and Charlie and Chelsea were outside talking she made a joke about using the cancer card. For some reason she grabbed my hand and squeezed it and I was surprised by how warm it was and how firm her grasp was. She also liked designer bags. I actually have a lot of memories of her but I'll keep this short.

Chelsea your life, your wit, your essence will live on in my heart for eternity. You have truly touched my life in ways unimaginable. You are the driving force that got me through school and the reason my time there was so enjoyable. I’ll never forget all the episodes of Gilmore Girls we watched waiting for our night class to start. I’ll never forget your laugh, your talent, or the fact that you truly were an angel on earth! Your life has impacted mine in the most amazing way and nobody could ever know how much you mean to me! I’ll never forget the day that I told you your jewelry was so gorgeous! It was a cold and gloomy typical fall day that day. And you replied, “Thanks it reminded me of summer and the ocean so I wanted to wear it today to bring out the warmth.” That in a nut shell describes your spirit and I want you to know that I love you with all my heart. Chelsea was my first friend after switching to St. Henry in second grade. She was such a great person to be around and I was at her house every day after school. If she had not made me I never would have gotten any of my homework done. We cleaned her room almost every day, or rather we stuffed as much junk under the bed or in her closet as humanly possible. Every day we had some sort of snack too and when we could not get mommy Brenda to make it we had to. Chels taught me how to make tuna and that seems like something silly but I never knew how. Over the years we grew apart but I never stopped thinking of her as a great friend. I love Chels like my sister and I will always miss her!

chelsea was so beautiful, inside & out. she made my granddaughter feel loved. they were best friends. they had so much fun & laughter together. when i first heard of chelsea's illness i worried about how lauren would cope when she lost her best friend. as it turned out lauren died in her sleep on oct. 9,2009. chelsea was devastated. i felt lauren was watching over her the past year. when chelsea lost her fight against this terrible disease, i know lauren was waiting to welcome her to heaven. rest in peace chelsea & lauren. together again.

Chelsea was/is such an inspiration to me as she fought such as hard battle against cancer. When I would read a post to see how she is doing it always made me feel that if Chelsea can keep fighting against all that is thrown at her so can I. She will always be a true angel to all of us fighting Lung Cancer. May Heaven and the stars shine more brightly now that Chelsea is there to watch over her family and friends and know that she is free from pain. God bless her family.

I got to know Chelsea thru her dad Dennis. She always had a smile on her face and enjoyed life to the fullest. The last time I spoke to Chelsea, she was upset that the dog she had gotten as a child had become sick and she called me for advice. I feel very honored to have known Chelsea and was saddened to hear she had become sick. I know she fought to beat this with all that she had, until the end. Please know that you had a wonderful daughter, and she touched so many people in ways you may never know. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Life is a gift and sometimes, GOD only allows us to enjoy the very special angels for a short period of time, before he calls them home. Chelsea was one of those special angels. GOD bless you all.
