Mary Loretta "Ret" Scherder Placke, 76 of Independence passed away Saturday, August 14, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare of Edgewood. A homemaker, formerly of the Independence Fire Dept. Ladies Auxillary, member Of Loyal Order Of Moose, Lodge # 1469. Preceded in death by Husband Robert J. Placke in 1990. Survived by special friend Jim Irwin, Independence, daughters Debbie Fortner and Loretta "Rett" Placke, both of Independence, son Kevin Placke, Independence, sister Helen Bach, Morning View, 5 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be 5-8 pm Tuesday, August 17 and 11-12:00 pm Wednesday at St. Cecilia in Independence. Christian Funeral Mass will be Wednesday 12:00 pm.
