a letter to me about my momma from Janice Grubbs... Hi, I didn't know anything about the status of the bookmarks, so glad you sent me this message. I forwarded your email on to the girls in the office at Independence, which is where the bookmarks are made up. I'm sure they'll be ready for you this weekend, now that we've drawn it to their attention. In fact, I'm really surprised you haven't received them already, as they're usually pretty quick with getting them ready. Sure hope you, and rest of the family is doing well. I've thought of you all so many times, and said a little prayer for you. I know you REALLY miss Joyce. She was such a "special lady", and so full of love for everybody. I'll never forget her sweetness. She was like that back in our school days as well. Everybody loved Joyce, and always had nice things to say, when her name was mentioned. As you know, it's sometimes hard to find people so loving in this day and time. You were certainly blessed to have such an awesome loving Mother. Take care, and if I can be of any further help, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Oh Mommy, today is so sad and much has changed since you went away... The glue of our family has gone with you and I would love for you to send some back to us... Anna is on her way there and I am not able to be there for Dee Dee, Jay Jay, Ricky and Trudie...Please do your best to help them understand and know that I love them... I am going home soon and it is going to be so hard to go through your treasures, to decide what I want when all I want is you to be here with me...Please take this pain in my heart and though you can never take it away, somehow make it not hurt as bad as it does...I feel like a big baby, even more than before...I want to feel your arms around me...please don't let go

Life is too short and there is never enough time for everyone. I feel very blessed in my life that I had the opportunity to find my birth mother and sister on June 4,1997. The moment I made the initial phone call I was welcomed by this wonderful loving family that I truly love. I know that Joy is where she wanted to be and that is up in Heaven. We will all meet again one day. I found that I had many things in commom with both Joy and Pam and I also found out that many of the women in the Maxwell family resemble each other's looks, mine as well. It was great knowing where I came from. If you ever get a chance to read the poem,"Legacy of an Adopted Child" by Anonymous you will find the strength and courage that I found with having two Mothers. I hope you have fond memories of Joy as I do and I would love to always keep in touch. You can e- mail me anytime. I will look forward to the day I can see everyone again. Please keep Pam and Terry in your thoughts and hearts and check on them when you get a chance. May peace and joy always fill your hearts. Pam Wells

Joyce and Terry were very good neighbors to my deceased parents and to my sister. Joyce was always there to give you a smile and she was fun to have a conversation with. She will be known for being a "nice" person that did not get upset. I know that her family will miss her but she is now breathing the fresh air of heaven. May the Lord send the comforter to Joyce's family.

Terry, Pam and all of Joy's family. Joy always treated me as a daughter. Although, at times, many years would pass between visits, Joy and Terry always welcomed me as a family member in their home. God has received an angel this week. Joy is home now. She will always be loved and missed, but the memories of Joy will always be in my heart. My love and sympathy. Donna
