Obituary of Virginia Charlene Ficke

INDEPENDENCE - Virginia Charlene Mills Ficke, age 77, died Saturday, October 10, 2009 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood. Ms. Ficke was a homemaker, a member of St. Cecilia Parrish in Independence, and she enjoyed gardening and family. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard "Dick" Ficke in 2000 and her son Mark A. Ficke in 1984. Ms. Ficke is survived sons, Daniel L. Ficke of Erlanger and Michael C. Ficke of Independence; daughters, Christina M. Ferguson of Covington and Frances I. Halderman of Swarthmore, PA; sister, Edna Veale of Delaware; five grandchildren and one great grandson.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 13, 2009 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at St. Cecilia Church in Independence. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at 12 noon at the church. Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence is handling the arrangements. Interment will be at St. Cecilia Cemetery.
