INDEPENDENCE - M. Kathryn Keeney Wharton, 97, of Independence, died Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at Hospice of the Bluegrass of Ft. Thomas, KY. She was a homemaker and a first and second grade teacher for several years in Kenton Co., a member of Staffordsburg Methodist Church and a member of their Homemakers Club and enjoyed quilting. She was preceded in death by her husband Morris G. Wharton in 1983, brother Paul Keeney, sister Hope Starks and one grandchild. She is survived by son James "Lynn" Wharton; daughter Louise Stevens both of Independence; sisters Ruth Fryer of TX, Emily Klette of Park Hills; brother Don Keeney of Independence; 3 Grandchildren and 9 Great-Grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 10, 2009 from 9:00 A.M until time of service at 10:30 A.M. at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home of Independence. Burial will be in Independence Cemetery.
Memorials suggested to Staffordsburg United Methodist Church, 11815 Staffordsburg Rd. Independence, KY 41051.
