INDEPENDENCE - Edna Marie Tungate Vessing, 93, passed Thursday morning, August 20, 2009 at Grant Manor. She was a retired home economist for CG&E and enjoyed quilting, canning and gardening. She was preceded in death by husbands Viley J. Riddell, "Buck" Lawrence Vessing; a sister and two brothers. Survivors include 3 daughters, J. Gayle McClure of Independence, June Williams of Independence and Sue Gouge of Crittenden; 2 sons, Ronald Riddell, of Latonia and Billy Riddell of Mineola, TX. 14 Grandchildren, 30 Great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 23, 2009 from 3-6 p.m. at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home of Independence with funeral service Monday, August 24, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery at Dry Ridge.
Memorials: Ashland Ave. Baptist Church, 2735 Ashland Ave., Covington, Ky. 41015 and Hospice of St. Elizabeth Healthcare, 483 South Loop Road, Edgewood, KY 41017.
