Obituary of Marlene Fran Orr

Marlene Fran Byrne Orr, 71, of Independence, died Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.
She was a volunteer librarian with St. Cecilia School in Independence, and a member of St. Cecilia Church and the church Altar Society. She also volunteered with the Boy Scouts at Bishop Howard School. Her husband, Nelson Dale Orr, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Cathlene Lynn Brock of Walton; a son, Patrick Dale Orr of Covington; brothers, Martin Patrick Byrne of Chicago and Matthew Paul Byrne of Castro Valley, Calif.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Cecilia Church. Visitation will begin there at 9 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in St. Cecilia Cemetery, Independence.
Memorials are suggested to Shriners Hospital for Children, 1900 Richmond Road, Lexington, Ky. 40502.
