Gertie Johnson Smith, age 86, of Taylor Mill, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Cold Spring Transitional Care Facility in Cold Spring, KY. She was a Homemaker who enjoyed reading and shopping. Her husband, Hubert Smith; brothers, Lonnie Johnson and William Johnson; and sisters, Rosie Mae Holt and Pearl Royston preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister, Minnie Seay (Charles); and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 25, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with a funeral service immediately following at 11 a.m. at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence. Interment will be at Floral Hills Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 4440 Lake Forest Dr # 120, Cincinnati, OH 45242.
