The first time I spoke with Gert was a few short weeks ago. I contacted her as part of the adopted family program....this is the first year I have led a committee and have always known that Nancy Weiss handled the program. I just recently learned of Gert's involvement. I immediately remembered the first time I heard her name....1988. I was a furloughed seasonal employee at IRS and working at Dunkin' Donuts with Sean Hennessy. He was such a funny and polite young man. Upon learning of my employ at IRS he asked me if I knew of his mom, Gert. I did not...I felt lucky knowing my manager's name at IRS....the place seemed huge. I hope Sean's well. I am so sorry for the family's loss as I know Gert was a wonderful woman that had a positive impact on many, many people.
