Obituary of Barbara Atkinson

Barbara Lou Barker Atkinson, 69, died Monday, Sept. 15, at St. Elizabeth Hospice, Edgewood.
She was a secretary for the Commonwealth of Kentucky Human Resources Department and member of First Baptist Church, Independence.
Her daughter, Karen Patton, died in 2007.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan Hampton; brother, Richard Barker; sisters, Rose Kaiser, Ann Littrell and Ruth Walker; and 11 grandchildren.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to noon Friday, Sept. 19, with service following a First Baptist Church of Independence. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.
