Sheaffer Family: I was saddened to hear of Larry's passing and wanted to send my condolences to you. I didn't know him as well as some on this page but as a captain for Comair, seemed to run into him here and there and spent some time talking and joking with him. I thought he was a very personable and funny person, as well as very knowledgeable and professional. I was glad to have welcomed him onto my jumpseat and will miss seeing him around and talking to him.

I had the opportunity to work closely with Larry almost daily on the job with Delta. He was a class act; always friendly, very insightful, and he obviously knew aircraft and the airline business quite well. He will be missed and he will be remembered. My condolences to the Sheaffer family and his friends.

Dear Sheaffer Family, I just wanted to give you my deepest condolences. Larry and I worked together for many years at DHL Airways/Astar Air Cargo. I learned a lot from Larry's knowledge of aviation and life in general. He was a very good friend to me and I enjoyed the time we had together at work. He will be deeply missed by myself as well as others here that spent time with him at work. He was a very funny and admirable person. I wish your family the best!

Dear Sheaffer family, I wish to give you my warmest sympathy during your tremendous time of grief. I realize that no words I write can fully express my sorrow for Larry's death, but please know that others are grieving with you and sending thoughts and prayers. I know that many will offer their aid. I too wish to offer my assistance in any way I can. I can be contacted at 513-842-9607. I worked with Larry at the FAA since he became part of the office. On the day he became part of the Cincinnati FAA's office, he also became part of the FAA's family. I celebrate in the time I was able to spend with Larry and mourn your (and the FAA's) loss. Be sure to remain to use the support networks. Sincerely, Carolyn Tucker

Larry and I went to FAA indoctrination Okc about ten years ago. We tried to stay in touch as much as possible in the last ten years. Couple of years ago after I had just gotten back to work after open heart surgery, Larry came over to our house for dinner (on one of his overnights to Minneapolis). My wife Kate and I enjoyed his visit, as my wife stated afer he left (what a cool person) I told her naw that's just Larry. Janice, We wish to offer our condolences on your loss we will keep Larry and your family in our prayers.

Janis, Kelly and Katie. I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your husband and father. Larry and I started with the FAA at the same time and went to indoc together. He very quickly became a good friend and we stayed in touch through out the years by phone, in OKC and he was in Albany for a visit in which we had dinner a couple of times. Larry often talked about his family and was especially proud of you girls. I know the emptiness that you are feeling, but you can be sure that Larry/Dad will always be with you. Especially in the things you do or say that you picked up from him, the special project he did around the house, a photo, the many friends you see who's heart he touched, that Harley going down the road. You will be in my prayers for a long time. God Bless you, and remember, he will always be you. Bob Willett
