Obituary of George Wolsing

George Edward Wolsing, age 91, of Independence, passed away Saturday, June 29th, 2013, at his residence. He was a member of the Kenton Utopia Club, the Sierra Club, the Cincinnati Walkers, the Irish Rovers, St. Barbara Church, St. Barbara's Seniors, and an honorary member of the Hills of Kentucky Dulcimer Society. Mr. Wolsing was a life-long farmer, who was passionate about conservation. Consequently, he donated part of his family's farm to the Kenton County Nature Conservancy for Wolsing Trails to ensure the preservation of and access to nature for future generations. His wife, Rose Laverne Wolsing preceded him in death in 2010. Survivors include his daughters, Barbara (Jerry) Rymarquis and Luellen (Tom) Wolsing List; son, Allen (Kathy) Wolsing; grandchildren, Dr. Stacey (Greg) Bane, Eric Wolsing, Andrew List, Lee List, Dr. Linda (John Beck) Rymarquis, and Dr. Lara (Jim) Fuchs. Visitation will be Friday, July 5, 2013 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Chambers & Grubbs in Independence. Mass of Christian burial will be Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Barbara Church, 4042 Turkeyfoot Rd., Independence, KY 41051. Interment will be at St. Cecilia Cemetery in Independence. Memorials may be sent to St. Elizabeth Hospice, 1 Medical Village Dr., Edgewood, KY 41017.
