Obituary of Edward Deaton

Edward E. Deaton, age 90, of Covington, passed away Monday, February 11, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood. He was a retired Supervisor for L & N Railroad, a retired Warehouseman for Kroger, a KY Colonel and a member of St. Anthony Church in Taylor Mill. Later in life, Mr. Deaton worked as the Conductor of the childrens' train at Johnny's Toy Store/Totter Otterville in Latonia and was lovingly known as Conductor Ed. He had many wonderful life experiences during his life and was beloved by family and friends. His wife, Ada Deaton; daughter, Karen Hope Deaton; and son, Ricky Gerald Deaton preceded him in death. Survivors include sons, Jeffrey Stephan (Edna) Deaton and Daryl L. (Diana) Deaton; daughters, Lisa Mae Deaton and Dedra Jeanne (Tim) Lutes; (15) grandchildren; (19) great grandchildren; and (7) great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, February15, 2013 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence. Funeral services will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Floral Hills Cemetery.
