Obituary of Lelia Hewitt

Lelia Vivian Drake Hewitt, 91, of Erlanger passed away Saturday, February 2, 2013 at her home. Lelia was a farmer who grew up in Piner and was a member of the first graduating class of Simon Kenton High School in 1939. She was a talented country musician who sang and played the fiddle, guitar, organ, and piano. She also enjoyed reading, hummingbirds, and most of all her dog Buffy. She was preceded in death by her husband William Ray Hewitt in 1977 and her daughter Barbara Dragoo in 1994. Survivors include her son-in-law David Dragoo of Erlanger; grandchildren Chris Dragoo and Sonia Hendrickson both of Scituate, RI. Graveside service will be 3 PM Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Independence Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Elizabeth Hospice 1 Medical Village Drive, Edgewood, KY, 41017.
