Obituary of Joe Hammons

Joe Carmel Hammons, age 74, of Morning View, KY, went on to be with the Lord, November 18, 2012, at his residence. He was a retired Truck Driver for Allied Systems in Georgetown, KY and a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church. Joe enjoyed hunting, spending time outdoors, and sports. Over the years, Joe played on and coached several softball teams and loved spending time with and ministering to the players and their families.
Survivors include his wife (of 54 years), Mary Collins Hammons; children, Ronald (Prudy) Hammons of Austin, TX, Lynne (Randy) Conner of Crittenden, and Jeanette (Mike) Luke of Dry Ridge; grandchildren, Joey Hammons Nicolaides and Sierra Luke; and great grandson, Joseph Alexander Hammons Nicolaides.
Visitation will be Friday from 10 AM to 1 PM at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home of Independence. Funeral services will begin at 1 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Independence Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hickory Grove Baptist Church, 11969 Taylor Mill Rd., Independence, KY 41051 or the ALS Association, Northern KY Chapter, 2807 Amsterdam Road Villa Hills, KY 41017.
