Obituary of Juanita Merrell

Juanita Watkins Merrell, age 82, of Burlington, went on to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Hospice. She was a retired Cook for Boone County Schools at Conner High School for over 38 years. Mrs. Merrell was a member of North Dearborn Community Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing (especially quilts) for others, crocheting, and flower gardening. Her son, Roy Merrell preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband, of over 67 years, Rev. William Henry Merrell; daughter, Sue (Larry) McBee; son, Harold Lee (Linda) Merrell; sisters, Bea Dickerson, Dolly Brown, Christine Taylor, Betty Harney, Loretta Wilson, Geneva Williams, and Carol Wilcher; brother, Glenn Watkins, six grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, November 2, 2012 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home in Florence. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Sand Run Cemetery in Hebron. Memorials may be made to Hospice of St. Elizabeth.
