Harold Lee Austin, 71, of Florence passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at his home. He was a machine operator and retired from Schwann Company and was a member of Northern Kentucky Baptist Church. Harold was very proud of the fact that from one generation above to one generation below him 15 family members of served in the US Military including his father. Survivors include his wife Faye Austin of Florence; daughters Jean Ernst of Florence and Sandy (Tom) Alessandro of Independence; sister Jean Driggers of Jessup, GA; brothers Ray (Gail) Austin of Huntsville, TN, Sonny Austin of Dalton, GA, Bill (Pat) Austin of Princeton, KY, Larry (Janet) Austin of Straightfork, TN; sister-in-laws Cloene Hedrick of Florence and June Illuzzi of Cleveland, OH; brothers-in-law Don Carroll of Xenia, OH and Olanda Carroll of Fairborn, OH; grandchildren Jeremy Kloeker, Nathaniel Lee McCowan, Danielle Johnson, Angel McCowan, Stephen Ernst, Justin Ernst, Alisha Ernst, Holly Alessandro, Eric Alessandro and Cody Alessandro; several great-grandchildren and many other friends and family including Patrick Gaspard and Steve Ernst. He was preceded in death by son Danny Austin; parents Luther and Pearlie Ann Austin, step-mother Cora Hatfield Austin; sisters Helen Austin and Mildred Lowe; brothers Ted Austin, Kenneth Austin, and Luther Austin, Jr.; nephews Jerry West, Robbie Austin and niece Lynnie Sharp.
Visitation will be from 12 Noon until time of funeral service at 2 PM Monday, October 17, 2011 at Northern Kentucky Baptist Church, 2681 Turkeyfoot Rd. Lakeside Park, KY 41017. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery.
