Obituary of Michael G. Bowman, Sr.

Michael G. Bowman, Sr., 71, of Dry Ridge, KY, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, KY. The son of the late Fred and Helen {Kerns} Bowman, Michael was born in Covington on September 10, 1952. Michael graduated from Diamond Oaks Vocational School and soon after married the love of his life, Kathryn {Streine} Bowman, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church. After 28 years of service, Michael retired from Local Union 392 where he spent many years as a Pipefitter.

Whether it was the Virgin Islands, Hawaii, or the Caribbean, Michael loved spending time on the beach and in the sun. A NASCAR enthusiast, Michael enjoyed attending any race that he could and watching races when broadcasted. Michael’s greatest passion and talent was woodworking and creating custom furniture.

Michael will be deeply missed by his wife of 47 years, Kathryn Bowman; sons Michael (Meredith) Bowman, Jr., Craig (Leslie) Bowman, and Joey Bowman; sisters Barbara Tiryung, Bonnie (Ron) Ballard, and Mardi (Joe) Wesselman; grandchildren Tyler, Kylea, Ryan, Evan, Cole, Shawn, and Cora; and will also be missed by his golden doodle, Zuse.

In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his son, Scot Bowman.

A visitation will be held between 11 AM and 1 PM with a funeral service to immediately follow at 1 PM on Friday, April 26^th at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike Independence, KY 41051.
