Obituary of Darrel Allen McMillan

Darrel Allen McMillan, 54, of Independence, KY, passed away suddenly Friday, December 1, 2023, at his residence. Darrel was born on July 27, 1969, in Covington, KY to the late Buford Gorman and Shirley Faye (nee: Kinnett) McMillan, Jr. He was a Welder Fabricator for M&R Fabrication Shop at Duke Energy. Darrel was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church and the Local 1347 IBEW. During his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and most of all being with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by wife, Christie Lynne McMillan in 2006 along with his sister, Cassie Shawan. Darrel leaves behind his loving daughters, Maggie Mae (Denver) Ball, Celia Cate (Jacob) Kirby, stepson, Anthony James (Ana) Morgan, stepdaughter, Olivia Colleen Morgan and fiancée of 10yrs., Patricia Morgan. He also leaves behind his granddaughter, Parker Lynne Kirby, his brother, Buford G. (Laura) McMillan III, sisters, Karen (Chris) Gannon and Regina (Raymond) Wymer. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023, from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence, KY. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at 10:00AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow services at Independence Cemetery, Independence, KY.
