Obituary of Edward "Eddie" Becker

Edward “Eddie” Becker (73) of Union, Kentucky, was called away from this world on December 31st, 2022. His final days were spent at home with those who loved him, which is exactly what he wanted. Born and raised in Newport, Kentucky, Eddie was a man who marched to the beat of his own drum. His work ethic was unparalleled as he took great pride in providing for his family. He enjoyed playing cards, watching old westerns, vacationing in the Smoky Mountains and even though he wasn’t funny, he made his family laugh every single day. Eddie is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Florence Becker, and his brothers Tony and Lonnie Becker, Brother-in-law Jim Johnson (all of Newport) and his Sister-in-law, Lue Bastin (Hustonville). He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Martha Becker (Union), his children, Alicia Boiko (CJ) (Florence), Angela Becker (Newport), and Lonnie Becker (Crittenden) as well as his grandchildren, Brittany Becker (Newport), Danny Cullum (Florence), Donny Cullum (Florence), and Noah Boiko (Florence). Eddie was one of eight children and was deeply connected to his wife’s siblings; as such, he is also survived by his sisters Mary Richardson, Vivian Fausz, Ramona Becker, Corrine Becker and Sandra Becker as well as his Brothers-in-law David Turner (Charlotte), Jan Bastin (Lue) and Sisters-in-law Grace Pallidino, Verdia Johnson (Jim) and many nieces and nephews.  A visitation will be held between 5 PM and 8 PM on Friday, January 6^th at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 8461 Dixie Hwy, Florence, KY 41042. His funeral will take place at the funeral home the following day, Saturday, January 7^th at 9 AM. Eddie will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery.
