Obituary of Sue Ann McClure Ponzer

Sue Ann McClure Ponzer., age 92, of Independence, KY, passed away Friday, June 24, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her family.  She was the former Owner/Operator of Ponzer’s Restaurant and Mills Road Driving Range. Sue enjoyed reading and playing cards, she loved watching the Cincinnati Reds on TV, as well as reruns of Gunsmoke and the Andy Griffin Show, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband (of 69 years) Victor Joseph Ponzer, parents, Charles G. McClure and Mable Marie Holmes McClure, great granddaughter, Riley Lynn Gastright, brother, Jr. McClure, and sister Faye Powell.  She is survived by her children, Vic Ponzer, Jr., Joyce Reynolds (Dave), Mike Ponzer (Tammy), Guy Ponzer (Mary), and Greg Ponzer (Debbie); brother, Bill McClure (Betty), sister, Joyce Curley (Wayne), eleven grandchildren; and twenty-three great grandchildren.  Visitation will be Wednesday, June 29, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon with her funeral service beginning at noon at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051.  Interment will be at Independence Cemetery.  Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org or the Kenton County SPCA, 1020 Mary Laidley Drive, Covington, KY 41017.  For directions, to view the Life Tribute Video or to leave the family a message of condolence, please go to www.chambersandgrubbs.com.
