Obituary of James Lee Allphin
James Lee Allphin, of Sanders, KY passed away at Robby Rex VA Medical Hospital in Louisville, KY on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at the age of 94.
He was born in Verona, KY on April 17, 1924; the son of Harry and Daisy Allphin. James served in the United States Navy during WWII, had worked in maintenance for the Walton Public Schools and was a member of Paint Lick Baptist Church in Warsaw, KY. He was a jack of all trades and was very handy, enjoying woodworking and fixing things.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Allphin; son, Larry Allphin and two brothers, Jack Allphin and Harry Allphin
He is survived by his sisters, Bonnie Jacobs, Mary Eva Massie and Glenna (Don) Rice; granddaughters, Jennifer (Troy) McCubbin, Lyndie Zembrodt and Luann Lord; great-grandson, Andrew McCubbin; as well as many other relatives and friends who will mourn his loss and carry on his memory.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday, July 20, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Walton Cemetery in Walton, KY.
