Obituary of Margaret Rickards

Margaret Lucille (Sanders) Rickards, age 83, of Florence, KY, formerly of Boise, ID, passed away January 26, 2012, at the Baptist Convalescent Center in Newport, KY. Margaret was born in Harrisburg, PA. At a young age, she dedicated her life to Jesus Christ, and later she and her husband spent the first 15 years of their married life as missionaries to N. Africa. She started sewing clubs and visited with the women of the countries where she and her husband served. After their return to the States, Margaret often worked in administrative jobs. She and her husband were active in missionary outreach programs all the rest of their lives, never forgetting the Great Commission to spread the Gospel to all the world. Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Donald Roland Rickards, Sr., in August 2010. Survivors include her four children: Don Jr. (Betty) Rickards, KY; Valerie (Jim) Easton, CA; Linda (John) Brown, ID; and Dale (Valerie) Rickards, CA; and 12 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren; three brothers: H. Edward Sanders, Jr. of NY, Kenneth Sanders of NC, and Vernon Sanders of ID, and sister Mary Gipple of PA. A service will be held Sunday, January 29, 2012, at 4:00 p.m. at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Chapel, 8461 Dixie Hwy., Florence KY 41042, and interment will be at Hopeful Lutheran Cemetery, in Florence KY 41042.
