Obituary of Mark Anthony Robert Knapp

Mark Anthony Robert Knapp, age 65, of Sparta, KY, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood, KY. He was a retired Electrician and a cherished husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend. Mark enjoyed the outdoors, drinking a cold Miller Lite, and his beloved Cincinnati Bengals, “piddling” on things, and traveling to New Orleans and Panama City Beach, Florida. Most of all, he loved his wife, Tina and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norbert and Jeanette Donaldson Knapp; brother, Steven Knapp; and in-laws, Bob and Jean Piper. Mark is survived by his loving wife, of 28 years, Tina Piper Knapp; children, Jessica Meyer (Brian), Marcus Knapp (Leslie), and Andrew Umphrey (Chelsea); siblings, Kathy Schulte, Paula Hater, Lois Clayton, Denise Haulber, Norbert Knapp, and Beth DiTullio; sister-in-laws, Brenda Meyer and Beverly Stewart; grandchildren, Lucy Meyer, Sadie Meyer, and Emma Knapp; lots of nieces and nephews; and many, many friends. A Celebration of Life will be held, Saturday, April 27th, 2024, beginning at 2 p.m. at the Bottums, across from Mark and Tina’s home in Sparta, KY. Memorials may be made to the Wood Hudson Cancer Research Lab, in Mark’s honor, at 931 Isabella St., Newport, KY 41071.
