Obituary of Carol J. Perry

Please share a memory of Carol to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Carol Jean Perry (Hall), 86, Cherished Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Great-Great Grandmother.

It is with deep sorrow and immense love that we mourn the passing of Carol Perry, of Union, KY, who left us peacefully on April 9, 2024, at her home surrounded by family. Carol was born to Joseph Raymond and Lilly Mae Hall (Martin), both deceased, alongside Judith, Sharon (deceased), and Joseph.  A beacon of strength and love, she dedicated her life to her family, leaving behind a legacy of enduring love and cherished memories. In 1955, she met and married her soulmate and life partner, Ervin Donald Perry (deceased). Their remarkable journey together spanned 63 years, filled with adventure, life abroad during her husband’s military service, and the joy of raising a family, until Ervin's passing in 2019. Their union was blessed with seven devoted children: Donald, Gary, Edward, Jeffery, Carolyn, Gene, and Julane, who then gave Carol the joy of becoming a grandmother to 23 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Each of these descendants carries a piece of Carol's spirit, love, and teachings with them. Carol was a woman of many virtues—kind, compassionate, and endlessly supportive. She was the heart of family gatherings, where her laughter filled the room, and her food filled the soul. Her hobbies included genealogy, crafts, music, and gardening, but above all, she cherished the time spent surrounded by her family. Carol’s devotion spread beyond her family where she leaves behind countless friends and relatives touched by her grace, particularly through her participation in the community as a member of Job’s Daughters during her youth, women’s auxiliaries in the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, and Air Force Sergeant’s Association, and the Independence Historical Society throughout her life.

A visitation to celebrate Carol's life will be held on April 15, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM with a service to follow at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 8461 Dixie Highway Florence, KY 41042. Family, friends, and those whose lives were touched by her are welcome to attend and share stories of how she touched their lives. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM, at the funeral home. Carol loved flowers which are welcome. Also in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St Jude’s, a cause close to Carol's heart. You can donate by clicking here.

Carol's legacy is not just in the family she leaves behind, but in the love, resilience, and kindness she instilled in us all. She was our matriarch, our compass, and our guiding light to a home she provided for us all. Her memory will forever be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.  "Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 'Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.'" - Proverbs 31:28-29

Rest in peace, dear mother. You are profoundly missed and will forever be remembered.
