Obituary of Earl E. Hinte

Earl E. Hinte Jr. could relate to the poor people he helped by raising money for the homeless and hungry.
"He grew up poor and knew what it was like to be poor and he tried to do extra things to help those in need," said Mr. Hinte's wife of 44 years, Barbara Hinte.
Mr. Hinte, 62, of Covington, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.
He was a salesman retired from J.C. Noyes.
Mr. Hinte was a longtime member of Crescent Springs Baptist Church and a recent member of First Baptist Church of Cold Spring.
He was an Army veteran.
Mr. Hinte spent much of his time working to raise funds for the homeless. He also volunteered to help senior citizens and Boy Scouts.
"He was a sweet, easy-going, generous person who was always happy to do anything for people and the Lord," said his wife. "He also had a good ear to listen to anybody who had problems.
"He devoted a lot of time to helping other people. He had good rapport with people. He was a pretty handy man to have around."
Other survivors include daughters, Cindy Wagner of Cold Spring, Connie Courtney of Covington and Kimberly Shields of Independence; a son, Daniel Shane Hinte of Alexandria; his parents, Beulah Goodwin Hinte and Earl Hinte Sr.; sisters, Patricia Ferguson of Erlanger and Nancy Csikany of Philadelphia; a brother, Ron Walters of Palm Beach, Fla.; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence. Visitation will begin at the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Independence Cemetery.
