Obituary of Asa Samuel Atherton

Asa Samuel Atherton, 73, of Panama City, Fla., formerly of Florence, died Wednesday at his residence. He was a retired machine tool industry employee, a Navy veteran of the Korean War, and a member of Latonia Baptist Church, VFW Post No. 6423, Erlanger, and the Colerain Moose Lodge, Cincinnati.
Survivors include his friend, Shirley Marshall of Edmond, Okla.; daughters, Mischelle Atherton Hartley of Panama City, Fla., and Sharon Atherton McQuitty of Edmond, Okla.; a sister, Orena Moses of Williamsburg; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorials are suggested to the Ronald McDonald House or hospice organization of the donor's choice. Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, Florence, is handling the arrangements.
