Obituary of Rusty Ballinger

Rusty Ballinger of Independence, age 69, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at his home. He was born on May 6, 1957, in Covington, KY to the late Nancy Ellen (Anderson) Ballinger and William Charles Ballinger, Sr.

Rusty retired from G.E. Aerospace where he worked for most of his life. He enjoyed watching sports and listening to Cincinnati Reds games. If you knew Rusty, you were familiar with his unique sense of humor and famous one-liners. He enjoyed spending time at the campground with his friends and family. He loved to go fishing, ride side by sides, talk about sports, and listen to a variety of music. Above all, Rusty loved being around his family. He adored his grandchildren and gave them special nick names. He was a beloved husband, dad, grandpa, brother, and friend who will be missed beyond measure.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 41 years, Beckie Ballinger; his children, Quinn (Stevi) Ballinger and Tess Ballinger (Jarrod Daly); beloved grandchildren, Lacey “Rose” Crawford, Blakelynne “Fancy” Ballinger, Asher “Big Red” Ballinger,  Lydia “Doozie” Ballinger, and Journee “Billie Jean” Ballinger; his bonus grandchildren, Mason Lebare, Geno “Stats”, Alanis, and Cora Daly; his brother, Ray (Michelle) Ballinger; sister-in-law, Beth Brokow; as well as several other friends and relatives who will cherish his memory.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his uncle, Lance Miller.

A visitation will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home 11382 Madison Pike Independence, KY 41051. The funeral service will begin at 7:00 PM.
