Obituary of Gary Beatrice

     Gary Beatrice, age 55, of Independence, KY, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2018, at his residence surrounded by his family.  A forty-year resident of Northern Kentucky Gary Beatrice received his higher education at Thomas More College and Chase Law School, and he practiced law for two years before beginning his career in the insurance industry. Gary was in his twenty-ninth year at Business Benefits which he owned with his siblings, Jim Beatrice and Geralyn Isler and with his parents, George Beatrice and Barbara Beatrice. While at Business Benefits, Gary established a reputation as one of the region’s most respected health care advisors. He served as chair of the Greater Cincinnati Association of Health Underwriters and in advisory capacities for each of the region’s primary health insurance companies, Anthem, Humana, and United HealthCare.

 

     Gary was also an active member of the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce since the late 1980s. His involvement in the Chamber was quite diverse, and the committees that he chaired included many of the Chamber’s signature programs and events, including the Regional Youth Leadership program, the Business Advocacy Committee, Egg’s N Issues, Government Forums and the Total Resource Campaign.  In 2009/ 2010 Gary served as the Chair of the Chamber Board of Directors, he was awarded the Chamber’s Walter Pieschel Award (jointly with his wife Margie) and in 2015 was awarded the Chamber’s Walter R. Dunlevy/Frontiersman Award.

 

     His influence and involvement has been visible throughout Northern Kentucky. He has served as a Director for many non-profit organizations throughout the region including the Behringer Crawford Museum, the Steinford Toy Foundation, Rosedale Manor, the HealthPoint Family Care Foundation, Tri-County Economic Development, and the Northern Kentucky University Health Innovation Center. Gary recently completed a six-year term as the Chair of Northern Kentucky’s Consensus Committee.

 

     Gary is survived by his loving wife, Margie Glenkler Beatrice; children, Anthony Beatrice, Jessica Beatrice, Jacob Beatrice, and Nick Beatrice; parents, George and Barbara Beatrice; and siblings, James Beatrice (Joyce), Geralyn Isler (Robert), Teresa Jacobson (Charles), and Robert Beatrice (Bridgette). 

 

     Visitation will be on Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence.  His Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick Church, 3285 Mills Rd., Covington, KY 41015.  Interment will be at St. Cecilia Cemetery in Independence, KY.  Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to the New Perceptions Center, 1 Sperti Drive, Edgewood, KY 41017.
